Yoga Therapy for Cancer Support & Recovery

A cancer diagnosis can change everything. Physically, emotionally, and spiritually, life may feel uncertain, unfamiliar, or overwhelming. Alongside medical treatment, many people seek gentle, supportive practices that help them cope with fatigue, fear, and the emotional weight of the journey.

Yoga therapy offers a compassionate space to reconnect with your body, restore a sense of inner calm, and support resilience — without pressure or expectation.

This work is never about pushing or striving. It is about listening, softening, and finding ways to feel a little more at ease, during treatment and beyond.

Common challenges you may be facing

  • Fatigue or low energy during or after treatment
  • Anxiety, fear, or emotional overwhelm
  • Sleep disturbance or difficulty resting
  • Physical discomfort, stiffness, or reduced mobility
  • A changed relationship with your body

How yoga therapy can support you in times of cancer treatment and recovery

This work is gentle, responsive, and held with great care. Yoga therapy can support relaxation, emotional steadiness, and a sense of connection during a time when much may feel out of your control.

  • Supporting relaxation: Practices that help calm the nervous system and reduce anxiety
  • Easing fatigue: Gentle rest and breath awareness to support energy conservation
  • Encouraging comfort: Very gentle movement or joint mobilisation (where appropriate) to support circulation and ease
  • Breath and sound support: Soft breathing, humming, or toning to soothe and settle
  • Emotional support: Presence, grounding, and compassionate awareness

Our approach

Yoga therapy is offered as a complementary support and does not replace medical care. I work carefully within clinical guidance and always take my lead from you, your experience, and your healthcare team.

Until medical approval is given, sessions focus on breath awareness, guided relaxation, sound, meditation, and rest-based practices. Where appropriate and agreed, very gentle movement or joint mobilisation may be included.

Every person’s journey is unique. Some days may call for stillness and deep rest; others may invite gentle breathwork, sound, or supported movement. Practices are always adapted to honour your energy levels, medical needs, and emotional state.

A gentle word

Healing is not linear. There may be strong days and tender days, clarity and uncertainty.

Yoga therapy offers a steady, compassionate space to meet yourself just as you are — supporting moments of calm, trust, and connection along the way.
