Throat Chakra — Truth, Expression & Clear Communication

Imagine a clear blue sky after rain — spacious, bright, and honest. This is the essence of the Throat Chakra (Vishuddha), the centre of truth, expression, and deep listening. When this space is open, words flow with clarity and kindness; when clouded, we may hold back, over-speak, or feel a tightness in the neck and jaw.

Practices to Support Vishuddha

  • Neck & jaw ease (with breath) — Seated or standing tall, breathe in to lengthen; as you exhale, release right ear toward right shoulder, then inhale back to centre. Repeat left. Soften the jaw (gentle “haaa” sigh) and unclench the tongue.
  • Sound practice — Tone the vowel “eee” softly, or chant the mantra ham (hum) on a long exhale. Keep it gentle; feel vibration in the throat and upper chest.
  • Blue visualisation — Imagine a soft blue light at the throat. With each calm breath, let it grow clearer and more spacious.
  • Move with integrity — In viniyoga style, explore small, breath-led chest openings (e.g., dvi pada pitham / two-foot support) to broaden the collarbones without strain.
  • Journal prompt — “What truth wants to be spoken?” and “Where is silence the kinder choice?”

Rooted in Wholeness

Truth is a bridge: between inner knowing and outer action, between your heart and the world. In Gaia Touch and other horizontal models, the throat extends outward as relationship — honest expression and genuine listening within the wider web of life.

When Vishuddha is balanced, your words become clear, kind, and necessary — and your listening becomes spacious enough to receive the truth of others.
