Gentle support for movement, balance, and confidence
Living with Parkinson’s can bring daily challenges — stiffness, tremors, fatigue, and changes in movement, balance, and confidence. These shifts can feel unsettling and may affect not only the body, but also emotional wellbeing and sense of self.
You are not your diagnosis. Yoga therapy offers a gentle, compassionate way to work with what is possible, at your pace — supporting steadiness, confidence, and moments of ease within everyday life.
This work does not aim to change Parkinson’s itself. Instead, it supports the whole person — body, breath, mind, and spirit — alongside medical care.
Common challenges you may be experiencing
- Stiffness, rigidity, or reduced flexibility
- Changes in balance or confidence with movement
- Fatigue or reduced energy
- Stress, anxiety, or emotional strain
- Changes in posture, coordination, or rhythm
How yoga therapy can support you in times of Parkinson’s
This work is adaptive, respectful, and carefully paced. Yoga therapy supports movement confidence, nervous-system regulation, and a sense of embodied stability — without pressure or expectation.
- Gentle mobilisation: Supporting ease of movement and reducing stiffness
- Postural awareness: Encouraging alignment and steadiness
- Breath-led movement: Supporting coordination and rhythm
- Nervous-system care: Practices that calm and settle stress responses
- Sound and mantra: Gentle sound to support focus, rhythm, and grounding
- Emotional support: Building confidence and resilience through compassionate practice
A gentle, adaptive approach
Sessions are shaped around your energy, mobility, and needs on the day. You remain in choice throughout.
Sessions may include:
- Chair-based practices for safe, accessible movement at any stage
- Supported standing or floor-based movement (always optional)
- Breath awareness to support ease and regulation
- Sound practices such as humming or toning
- Guided relaxation or yoga nidra to support rest and reduce fatigue
There is no “right way” to practise. Each session is paced to support confidence and comfort.
Creating a safe, supportive space
Living with Parkinson’s can affect confidence, identity, and emotional wellbeing as much as physical movement. Sessions are guided with respect, compassion, and steady pacing, so you feel supported and in control of your practice.
